Too Good To Be True?

History Colorado Center has made a commitment to better highlighting the stories of its Black communities throughout its history. The challenge is scale: this history, heritage, and community has spanned the entirety of the state since the pioneer days. The team at History Colorado needed a way to share these stories across its many heritage sites — wherever the history, or the visitor, happens to be.
"Working with Guru Experience Co. has been wonderful! Their team is very professional, organized and dedicated; with Guru, I don’t stress about the project because I know it’s in good hands."
— Dexter Nelson II, Associate Curator of Black History & Cultural Heritage
History Colorado Center used our location-aware multi-site app to keep all of these stories in one convenient app download. Stories of Black history and heritage are organized by their physical location, encouraging users to visit the historic landmarks in person. And on each story stop page, the app recommends similar content a visitor might also find interesting.
Just as important, the app was never meant to stop at audio, images, and text. As the program gains traction and more experts across each historic and heritage site come on board, those teams can use the Content Management System to add highly personal stories themselves — no technical background required. The app keeps growing, with the most authentic voices leading the way.
